Works on Paper by Keyang Wu

作者:Paolo Martore

Keyang Wu's works on paper show a labyrinthine path presented in the artist's exploration. These small black biros sketches are different from the larger drawings, they are like a book of time, like a diary, like a calendar or a string of rosary beads ...... expressing a spiritual perspective through graphic symbols. Some of these images are abstract and more figurative, looking as if they were engraved, but in reality they are biros sketches on paper, just like notes, reflections or introspective meditations.

Keyang Wu's explorations in this section are fascinating and have a powerful impact. The sketches, which show the density and sensitivity of the brushstrokes, reveal a sense of enlightenment ...... This part of the works on paper are not separate from the other paintings, but at the same time are very different because they are the fruit of a rapid presentation, making them similar to haiku, as instantaneous revelations, as Polaroid photographs that freeze the flow of time, and that fundamentally illuminate the Eightfold Path, i.e:

    正见(samma ditthi)

    正思维(samma sankappa)

    正语(samma vaca)

    正业(samma kammanta)

    正命(samma ajiva)

    正精进(samma vayama)

    正念(samma sati)

    正定(samma samadhi)

Oil Painting:《行徒》

Anyway, this reminds us that ‘Nirvana is not different from reincarnation. The boundary of Nirvana is the boundary of reincarnation. There is no difference between the two.’

Keyang Wu's work is vast and limitless, we are talking about hundreds of wonderful pictures that lead us beyond time and space and build us a very rare case of artistic creation.
