According to the Bible, Adam was the first human being in the world.
Michelangelo, an Italian painter, created a famous painting titled The Creation of Adam on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel based on the story of Adam. The fresco depicts the scene from the Book of Genesis in the Bible where God creates Adam, the first ancestor of mankind.

According to traditional stories, God breathed the spirit of life into Adam, but Michelangelo changed this to God's hand reaching out to Adam's. This alteration not only enhances the drama of the scene but also directs viewers' attention to the details of this sacred moment.Adam's head is slightly raised, as if waiting for the arrival of life, while God's right hand extends toward Adam. Their fingers are on the verge of touching, and the spark of life is about to ignite.

In 1990, a doctor from Anderson, Indiana, USA, published an article in the Journal of the American Medical Association (signed by Frank Meshberger, M.D.) stating that the figure surrounding God was actually a human brain anatomy diagram. It includes the cerebral sulci of the telencephalon, the brainstem, the frontal lobe, the basilar artery, the pituitary gland, and the optic chiasm. Besides the theory of the human brain, some art historians believe that God's red robe just forms a human uterus, and the flying green ribbon may represent the umbilical cord.

Michelangelo painted nine religious paintings of varying sizes in sequence along the architectural borders of the central part of the hall. All 取材于 (are drawn from) stories in the Bible about the creation of heaven and earth up to the Ark of the Flood. Their titles are God Separating Light from Darkness, Creation of the Sun, Moon, and Vegetation, God Separating Water from Land, The Creation of Adam, The Creation of Eve, The Temptation and Expulsion from Paradise, Noah's Sacrifice, The Flood, and Noah's Drunkenness.
This giant fresco took more than four years to complete. Due to the long-term hardship of painting on his back, Michelangelo suffered from a stiff neck and had to place letters on his head to read them by looking up. Among the murals, The Creation of Adam is the most outstanding. In the painting, Adam's figure is strong and majestic, full of strong will and power. It demonstrates the artist's extraordinary idealized processing on the basis of realism, providing a profound inspiration to his contemporaries.

This work took four years to create and depicts nine scenes from the Book of Genesis in the Old Testament, along with 343 figures and the stories between them.

From The Creation of Adam by Michelangelo, we can appreciate the shocking power of art that transcends time and space. Nowadays, the exchange and collision of art are still ongoing. From July to August this year, Mr. Keyang Wu, a Chinese oil painter, is about to set foot on the land of Florence to hold a personal art exhibition. With his unique artistic perspective, he will integrate the essence of Chinese and Western cultures, build a bridge for cultural exchange in this capital of art, and write a new chapter in the dialogue of art.
